This page is to share stories of people really doing the hard work of building peace.
Baltimore Ceasefire 365 is a grassroots organization striving for a zero murder rate in their city by calling ceasefire weekends. In the course of their outreach, residents:
- help each other get the resources they need in their lives
- have conversations with each other about how to handle conflict differently, and
- make commitments to one another to be non-violent in thoughts, words, and deeds, for AT LEAST the ceasefire weekend.
Throughout the year, this movement serves as a hub for organizations and citizens to support one another, work together, and share resources, with the goal of seeing an end to murder in Baltimore City.
Parents Circle – Families Forum (PCFF) is a grassroots organization of bereaved Palestinians and Israelis. The PCFF promotes reconciliation as an alternative to hatred and revenge. Click here to listen to a very moving interview of two of their members speaking about the current violence in Jerusalem.
